Um, it's watered, you know, the amount of effort it takes to make a really good grass cork, um,
Pretty much takes them all year to do it.
I mean, they dig up those those courts, the main couple of show courts.
They dig them up like a week or two after the tournament's over and they read you from start to finish.
So the attention to detail is is incredible.
And, you know, the grass plays much differently in Wimbledon than it does anywhere else.
It's a harder surface.
It's a more.
Yeah, it actually changed a lot in the early 2000, 2001.
They changed the texture of the grass and it became a little more, you know, bouncier.
Like I used to, you know, have a ritual.
I bounced the ball three times before I'd serve.
And at Wimbledon, the grass was so lush, you know, back when I played in the late 80s through the 90s, that you had to throw the ball like this to get it to bounce.
Now you just throw it like you're on a hard court.
It bounces like you're on a hard court.
So it's gotten much firmer and a lot harder.
And that means it bounces, generally speaking, quite a bit higher.
And the reason that the All England Club did that was because a lot of the players at the end of the 90s and in the early 2000s, a lot of the European players were not playing Wimbledon anymore.
They weren't going to play because it was so different.
And then you had guys like Sampras and Ivanisevic and Filipousis, you know, starting to dominate with the serve.
