And Wimbledon saw the writing on the wall, which was that, first of all, they didn't want the points to be over in one or two shots.
And second of all, if you're the greatest tournament in the world, you need all the greatest players to play, not just the ones that can play on grass.
So that's when they started to change it so that it gave everybody.
It's still different.
It's still, you know, the ball stays lower.
It still skids a little bit more.
You got to have, you know, an array of shots, maybe more so than playing on a clay or hard court.
But it's much more similar now to playing on the other services than it ever was.

So there's that side of it that's a little bit, you know, despite its kind of upper class, when you look at the Royal Box and all that, there's a part of Wimbledon that's, you know, for, you know, the status of society in England, the way it works,
Of the common man, you know, that the common man or woman can come to Wimbledon and they used to, you know, now they queue up to come in later in the day.
They used to queue up to be first in line and they would literally wait outside the gates and they would sprint.
through the grounds to get to center court to get those coveted couple hundred seats that were standing room only, that were first come, first serve.
They used to do that at all the England Premier League soccer matches until they had some serious situations happen in soccer when the government finally decided we got to get rid of standing room only because there was people dying
That never happened, luckily, in Wimbledon, but they used to have designated runners who people would pay, and they would be like sprinters, and they would sprint through the grounds when the gates opened at exactly 10 a.m., which they still do today, and get those seats and wait there on center court for play to happen.
Yeah, you know, it's definitely different, but it's more of a surface that you can play from the baseline.
You know, you can be a baseline player.
Obviously, it still favors the players that can come forward and attacking players that can take the ball on the rise, a la Roger Federer.
But if you see, you know, there's no more serve and volley.
