You basically schedule like a 10-minute event in your calendar, Friday, noon, around 12, 1, not at the end of the day because you want to do it.
And then you just write down whatever stuff, whatever like was a small achievement this week.
And you keep this in the document.
It's useful for like a lot of cases.
It's useful for writing the CV later on, for creating the career narrative when you are preparing for the interview down the line.
but it's also useful even in your own company where you are working right now, when you will have a conversation with your manager or boss or whoever about, I don't know, the race, promotion or something, you already have a list of this stuff.
Very easy thing, very useful for majority of the time that you will be working in someone else's company.
So that's number one thing.
Second thing is that you also have to have this understanding that
as harsh as it sounds nobody else cares about your career nobody maybe your mom that's okay but apart from that no that's the reality like nobody else and the point is that you have to be very deliberate and i would even care to say like aggressively pursue the opportunities and the stuff that you would like to have in your life when it comes to career so when i come when i'm obviously when i mean aggressively it's not like you have to beat up people on events to get what you want
But if you think that you are not reaching out to a recruiter to follow up or you are not reaching to a studio because you've already sent two messages and it feels like, I don't want to knock them or anything.
No, you do send the message because this is how you fight for what you want, actually.
So if you know specifically, because that's an important bit here also, you have to know what you want and also have evidence that you can do this job.
but if those is covered then this is how you do it and to give example also like recently i've been working with a narrative designer and when she came to me she had this idea that maybe she would like to move a little bit into production into project management because she was doing a lot of this in the current company in the current position and we and we started with this
like with this angle that, okay, maybe this would be a relevant path for her somewhere down the line.
And when she will be looking for a gig, that might be something actually manageable and something that she could aim for.
But then when we worked through it and when we unpacked what was underneath,
what it turned out is that she was doing this producer and project management work because she was working in a smaller indie company that did not gave her enough tasks from narrative design and writing perspective so she just naturally filled her time with different activities because she was this kind of person that wants to you know do as much as possible like doesn't really like sitting in place and basically if there was an option to uh to do something in the company she just grabbed it and she was this kind of go-to person so
It was kind of like Catch-22 a little bit for her after a while because she also got a reputation from being this kind of person.
So every new thing was just pushed down towards her.
