Most of the colleges stay very aware of changes that are happening within the profession.
So I know that there are things that we will let our alumni know in terms of things and changes.
which is where the college exists, has stayed connected to national organizations.
There are a number of national organizations or trade organizations support the profession, similar to the AMA of Medicines, the ICA, the DA, and other organizations that are supportive of the chiropractic profession that legislated lobby at lobbyists in Washington to ensure the practice of chiropractic has parity with other healthcare professions.
And they offer communication back to practitioner.
In this day and age, as much as people can be siloed in their practice, you actually have to work at not getting information.
We are so over-communicated right now, whether it's through YouTube or Instagram or emails.
There's loads of data out there.
To not stay abreast of things that are happening or become aware of them is getting harder and harder just in the nature of communication in our world.
Even in solo practice.
The other piece of it, most states don't require it, but there is a level of compliance that you need to have
as a healthcare provider in most states.
And there are organizations that are considered compliance officers.
So I did that maybe 10, 15 years ago in practice.
I started working with a compliance officer in Massachusetts, and their job was to make sure that we're doing everything to ensure all of our HIPAA documentation is in place to make sure that the HR issues are handled appropriately and that there are enough exit signs around the office, that our x-ray facility meets code, etc.,
So working with compliance officers, I do that as part of my rent.
Now it's not super expensive and they make sure that, you know, in a year's time that you are totally compliant, particularly nowadays with a digital world.
Making sure healthcare information is protected.
Back when computers first came out, you put an antivirus program on there.
That was it.
