Even in short bursts, Alessis has shown his quality.

He's had some really good spells in the Sunderland team.

At the start of last season, before he got injured, he started at centre-half and had a really good run.

From memory, Sunderland didn't concede in their first three games, and it might have gone on even longer, as he was a really important part of that.

There's absolutely no doubt about his ability at this level, it's just a question of if he can get fit, and stay fit.
