So I think you take those two things into account.

That really does a lot to pull down the completion percentage.

And he was a little bit scattershot and a little bit inaccurate.

So I think that there are a lot of things coming into play at once that make that number 58% that go beyond just the quarterback.

And I think that's probably how you get a number that's as low as it was last year.

Everything.

I think that's what people have missed a little bit in the discussion that we had, and especially some of the clips that have gotten pulled out.

I think people have fixated on the idea that I've said he needs to be better,

We say seven different times during that show, I think he will be better, and I think he can be better.

We've seen quarterbacks in the league, and this is something else that we talked about that I think is really important.

Too often, we've talked about quarterback improvement in massive leaps and massive chunks.

And we've looked at guys like Josh Allen who've gotten significantly better and treated those as outlier events because they are.

They don't happen very often.

We don't really see quarterbacks take massive, massive leaps if they're not at least pretty good right away.

But what we do see a lot of is incremental improvements at the position and

from year two to year three, year three to year four.

The two guys that we really talked about on the show were, in my opinion, Jared Goff and Jordan Love are really good examples of this, where Jordan Love was pretty inaccurate his first year as a quarterback, and he got much better at that.

Jared Goff, I think there's a revisionist history with this where we all kind of always thought that Jared Goff was pretty good.
