An awful lot is changing, but more opportunities are opening up.
then opportunities are closing down.
We've got a concept in EY around kind of training and upskilling our young people, which is essentially to get them doing the roles after about three to four years that they used to be doing five or six years.
That's our kind of traditional manager grade.
So we see it as an acceleration rather than a deceleration now.
Our own business, we think about it a lot as a partner group, as an EY board.
There's no doubt that automation of some of the core compliance services, audit tax, particularly things like sales tax, VAT, items like that,
are upon us or imminent and there's that changes kind of what we do and how we do it and we work very often regulated businesses so our regulators are very keen to understand how we're using ai but if it also opens up a whole kind of bunch of different things that we should be doing even our traditional services for our clients so you know assurance around ai integrity of data sources of data
and use of data, protection of data.
No hallucinations.
To me, that's a big part of the future of all of it.
And that's before we get into some of the stuff we do around system implementation, transformation with our consultants.
And I'm letting people are surprised.
I said to you, we've got 300 data and AI scientists and EY and another couple of hundred software engineers
you kind of scratch your head and say, well, I thought you were an accounting firm, but that's how the professional service firms, particularly us, have served the market now for a number of years.
Total, I'd say about 300 plus across the entire firm.
Same as last year, up or down?
I'd say we're going to be around about the same as last year, probably a different mix.
So some of the newer disciplines that I've just mentioned will have more, but it's, I mean, in terms of kind of meaningful percentages year to year.
It's pretty consistent.
