Um and it's interesting, you know, the S P I think has rallied about twelve or thirteen percent since it trough in late March, um and basically troughed at the same time that the oil price peaked. matched

Um but we saw, you know, on the S P five hundred obviously industrials and consumer discretionary stocks really leading the way on on matched

Friday night reacting to that news of uh hopefully lower oil prices and and really the only couple of sectors that didn't gain on Friday night unsurprisingly was energy, as you would expect, uh and then also utilities uh as well. matched

But yeah, that's right. matched

I mean I think you know investors may be saying, Look, you know, we're at least trimming some of those downside risks to growth. matched

The US earnings season is going well, and let's not think matched

That actually analysts have been raising uh their estimates of earnings for the S P five hundred, you know, as as the crisis has extended. matched

So there's a a story there around uh you know solid earnings outcomes. matched

Um and yeah, I think you know, people not wanting to uh sort of miss the rally. matched

Yeah, that's right. matched

And even here in Australia last week, you know, there were a couple of corporates uh, you know, who who gave trading updates and said, Look, you know, we we are going to be taking a hit to earnings as a result of uh, you know, some of the the dynamics and the challenges around um the the conflict in the Middle East. matched

So I think that that is possible and particularly in that big tech space where we know the CapEx spend has been huge, you know, enormous um by historical standards. matched

Uh and I think, you know, at some point investors are are probably gonna start to question um, you know, whether the returns on all of that investment are are there to be to be seen. matched

Absolutely. matched

So I think, you know, everyone understands that you know headline inflation measures are are going to move higher as a consequence of uh higher oil prices. matched

And so we'll get more information on that this week. matched

So I think uh you know, Canada releases CPI data for March, so does Japan. matched

Uh New Zealand releases it for the full quarter. matched
