the simple negative truth, I think it's because we are reporters.
And so I know how to listen to people and say, actually, it's about this.
So that helps.
I think that I don't always have the answer, but I'm pretty good at saying, you think it's about this, it's actually about that.
One of my favorite quotes, I was with some friends, we're trying to open a bottle of champagne, couldn't get it open, you know, the little cork top, couldn't get it open.
And then someone in the group goes, sometimes...
You got to twist the bottle, not the cork.
Like, that's it.
And so it's like, if I can have conversations like that, where I adjust either my or my friend's point of view, that's the real work.
In general, I have, and this is with my current partner, on our first date, we talked about dead moms and bad breakups, and I got all the details of his divorce.
And let me tell you something.
Divorce is a story about money, always.
And the older I get, because I'm 41 now, so I have a lot of friends who are either going through or are done with divorces.
So I guess my first piece of advice is prenup, prenup, prenup.
