Yes, they have an important work thing on, but I'm also really disappointed that they didn't make the effort to come.
You can hold both.
It doesn't have to be they are a terrible person for not coming to my event, but it could be it really hurt me and I am sad about that.

And this is where I was thinking before about the different personality types.
Some people are not able to be in a situationship without catching feelings, so to speak, you know.
And you'd like to think that anybody in a situationship has a certain amount of feelings for the other person, you know, and cares about them and enjoys spending time with them.
But when that trickles into, you know, falling in love or things like that, sometimes inevitable.
But some people, particularly when you bring sex into the piece, right, or intimacy in whatever way, some people can make really sort of
I guess, I don't know if it's about being in denial, but they sort of act like, oh yeah, this will be fine.
I can have sex with this person and not catch feelings or, you know, and that's that slippery slope where it's like, yeah, it sounds like a great idea.
And then, you know, a month or two later, it's like, oh no.
I'm now like fully invested in this.
And yeah, whereas other people can really separate sex and love and, you know, sex is fun.
It's all great, you know, but it doesn't create this sort of like closeness and intimacy from an emotional perspective.
