uh I guess it was last year where we had a an ink system going toward uh Southern California, the San Diego area and a lot of moisture making its way on shore.
That would be beneficial, but we don't want a situation where uh rapid intensification occurs like along the Mexican coast like we saw over the past couple of seasons where things go from, you know, an a disorganized system to nearly a a major hurricane in the course of uh twenty-four to thirty-six hours.
And and they're gonna be looking at those uh water temperatures uh trending very warm through the season, uh not even getting gradually warmer if uh they don't have any of those systems anytime soon to help churn that water up.
And and what like what we saw last year in the Caribbean, uh it was pretty quiet.
But then of course we had uh Jamaica get impacted by a very powerful hurricane Cat five in the course of uh rapidly intensifying because the water
was not turned over by any systems before that.
So it was as warm as it can get.
Uh right now off the Type Island, eighty-seven degrees, uh definitely trending warmer over the past couple of days because of how hot it's been.
We had uh for the first time in uh I think over a uh well certainly first time this season, uh certainly um not last year, but I think it was the year before it was last time, we had consecutive triple digit heat.
Uh we did make one hundred degrees.
Not record breaking for us, but still abnormally hot.
So the water temperatures did jump up uh by a couple of
degrees, so running a little bit above normal for us.
Um, but you know, it's it it's easy for our waters to kind of uh fluctuate like that.
And it's usually this time of the season of course is the hottest of the for the water temperatures off of Taibee Island, it usually does run quite a bit cooler than the than the Gulf Coast.
Well, we have those two systems to the south of Hawaii right now that are highlighted for development.
It looks like at this point they should stay away from the island.
It's kind of like um, you know, a small dot and a
Ocean.
So it a lot has to go wrong for Hawaii to uh get directly impacted by any system in any given year, but they will certainly over the season have uh the the impacts from the direct impacts from uh the cis for any systems that develop out in the Pacific.
