I don't think people want division.

I think people want...

that live and let live ethos to come alive again.

Well, the most important thing is that we've been a proud migrant nation.

We've probably been the most successful of all the English-speaking nations in bringing in new people after the Second World War and thereafter.

I mean, you think about the waves of European migration, then the Vietnamese, and then everyone else after that.

I mean, effectively, we've been able to do an amazing job.

So maintaining confidence for that migration system is very important.

The fact is people can come to this country, they can maintain their own...

you know, culture, but they buy into the Australian family.

They leave the old conflicts at the door, but they buy into the Australian family, community, but they can still practice their own cultures, right, that they have from the old country.

Yeah.

But we've got to make sure we can house people, and because Labor have collapsed the housing supply system, we think it makes sense for there to be some connection there.

This isn't the only way to solve the housing crisis, but clearly if you want to bring in more people, you need to be able to house them, and so we think that it's reasonable to have a link between housing and migration as part of our overall housing policy.

So if you compare where we are now to the 80s, I'd say we're a really dumbed-down country.

And now we have a political system where the politicians try and bribe the electorate with things, which might sound good, but in the end they pump up inflation and people pay more.

So that's because...

the politicians have been too afraid to say, here are the things I've cut.

One, two, three, four, five, right?

So the corollary of not being prepared to be honest means that the people pay more.
