But of late, you'd have to say they are acting more like communists than like Bob Hawke.
Well, I've been embarrassed that we haven't been in more coherent opposition over these last four years.

I mean, we are where we deserve to be, is my appraisal, and the chickens have come home to roost because we haven't done the hard work.
I mean, if you go back to the 90s and you look at what
Houston and Howard and all those guys did, and I'm sure some of your listeners are too young for that, but they did a document called Fight Back, right, which had a GST in it and had radical ideas like helping small business and get away from all Labor's industrial architecture.
And those ideas ended up becoming the bedrock of the Howard government, which was successful for 11 years, was a good pro-enterprise government, small business thrived.
We haven't done the work...
up until the last few months, which we've started to do under Angus Taylor's budget reply.
And ultimately, we've got to roll our sleeves up and do that work.
I mean, I just think if you go back, you've had 250 years of European settlement almost in this country.
We've been an incredibly successful country, incredibly strong in terms of our economic profile.
But the trajectory for our country is actually very bad.
