And Namala had made a lot of progress this year.

He had a tremendous start last year at high A Vancouver, really tapered off.

This season, he's been a little bit more consistent.

He got the promotion to double A, missed a little bit of time with a hamstring injury, I believe it was, and just came back and has been hitting and performing.

And so, yeah, this is somebody that you might have been talking about pushing towards the majors, you know, maybe late, mid to late 2027, depending on how things play out.

So the cost is substantial.

But the couple of pieces at play there, I think, is one, the Jojo Parker and his progress and the way that he's got a chance to move based on the way that he's performing at Lowe Dunedin right now.

And ultimately, the Blue Jays aren't playing for the longer term, right?

They're in a competitive window right now.

And so you have an opportunity to get one of the best controllable starters that's going to be likely available at this deadline and probably next offseason as well.

I think all those things make this the type of deal that you risk a prospect like Namalo for.

Sure.

And let's go back to that offseason, right?

When you have Robbie Ray coming off the Cy Young season and a lot of will they or won't they be able to sign him?

And he ends up, Robbie Ray ends up going to the Mariners and very shortly after, it's Kevin Gosman to the Blue Jays.

And

If they don't make that deal at the time, the Blue Jays went right into the lockout, Major League Baseball, excuse me, went right into that lockout immediately afterwards.

There's some questions about kind of how are you recovering after you let a Cy Young award pitcher walk?

And the Kevin Gosman deal immediately erased any of those concerns.

I think if you compare the two side by side, you're definitely taking Kevin Gosman over Robbie Ray over those five years.
