You lose your job.
Something happens to a family member.
You have a mental health crisis.
Everyone is three steps away from being homeless.
And what I realised was...
with all the people that were homeless, those that had like drug problems and alcoholic problems, they started doing that because of the pain of being homeless.
So they didn't have those problems.
Then they were homeless.
It's so lonely.
It's so scary.
It's a really horrible environment where you suddenly have no love in your life, right?
No one, no food.
You're not sure if you're going to eat.
Like the mental strain on you makes you drink.
Right.
So most people start drinking once they become homeless and then they become dependent on it because it's a way of killing the pain.
Oh, wow.
And having no home, I'm telling you, it's the scariest thing to not have a safe place to sleep.
In the night, anything could happen to you because you're out in the street, right?
Someone can stab you.
