And suddenly, he hadn't spoken for ages, said in a very, very quiet voice, said, well, you had to do the thing which was right for you.
And he died very shortly afterwards.
But for so many years, thinking that he was, you know, non-supportive.
That's the polite version, by the way.
I realized he was really cool about it.
And it's amazing that I could get that sort of happiness and contentment, which has followed me since.
It just felt like it's now or never.
And sort of get on with it.
I mean, I was so young.
It's probably actually not the art gallery, but the Laughing Cavalier on top of a biscuit tin or something like that.
But I think if you're a child and you're going to an art gallery, it's not only the paintings that you're looking at.
It's the whole experience.
I mean, just marble columns, the grandeur of it, gilt frames.
