You cannot watch sports with your child without indoctrinating them into gambling and making them feel like if you're a real sports fan, you put money on the game.
Don't stand on the sideline.
You know, everything that every psychologist is saying to these kids to get them just to try.
Once they try, those random rewards do the rest.
So it's something that's really been created over the last four or five years.
It's something we can uncreate to some extent.
We can get rid of the marketing.
And that's part of what I'm fighting to do.
Yeah, I mean, it's something we call learned helplessness.
There's sort of a famous study that I hate the details of, but it's so graphic that it's a good one to stick in people's minds.
They took dogs and put them in a situation where there were two sections of this cage, let's call it.
And a light would come on and that would tell them that the floor under the section they're on was about to have some electricity on it.
Not enough to cause pain, but we all hate that feeling of electricity.
So the dog would learn to jump over to the safe side.
But if you then erect a barrier so that he cannot jump,
After a number of trials, he sees the light.
He knows that the shock's coming.
He tries to escape.
He can't escape.
He takes the shock.
