I think to steel man that case for, I guess, like how socially unfashionable it would be.
There was that actually a real world example of finding that
There was some finding about the prominence of Neanderthal DNA in modern Homo sapiens and that you didn't really find any of it in people with direct African ancestry or something or recent direct African ancestry.
At the time that that finding was published, there were comments about how unpopular it would have been if the opposite happens to have been true.
It would give ammunition to racist assholes, and the people who found this might be seen as giving them ammunition, even though all they were doing was just looking around.
If it worked out to where the ancient Greeks, or the Greeks' great-great-grandparents, were the ones that first stumbled across consciousness and permeated it across the world...
It'd be like, oh, so it was white people, you know, is I think the I lost my charity somewhere along the way.
I was trying to give the the charitable steel man of it.
But I think I think that's partly the concern.
So in social science that they're cognizant of that sort of thing.
The idea that women as a subculture of humanity unilaterally decided
That, hey, we're going to have a global wide cabal of this new rule seems way less plausible than people getting cool hallucinations from snake bites.
Just on its face, that sounds like it requires a whole level of global subterfuge that just seems hard to imagine happening at the time.
