We really could have got something out of that game.
I definitely think we needed fresh legs and maybe like we were looking to pardon me to be fair we were looking to get forward every time we could we were looking to counter-attack all the time like we never tried to just sit deep and I know back in the day I had the team and you know when all the players were playing at an amateur level and we didn't have legs to do those type of things we would have sat maybe deeper against those bigger teams
and maybe not got those chances to counter attack but every time we got a chance we got forward and bodies were getting forward so maybe you know we to stem the tide could we have sat sat in for a couple of minutes just to you know get a bit of good shape again just to frustrate the french because if there's one thing you can do with the french they're all excellent all over the pitch but i think mentally you know they're probably not the strongest team and we've always said that over the years and hence why they've always failed at the
the last leg you know the major fines they haven't won one because we think mentally they're just not strong enough you know so yeah hindsight's a great thing it's just unfortunate um but you know we almost grabbed the equalizer late on i'm not sure how that goal was saved on the the goal line of the shot rather from denise i think in another 100 times that that was in the back of the net the ball i think nearly knocked the defender out um but yeah it was just we're all good i think is this a strength and depth issue um
It could be, Ger.
You know, I was looking at the subs bench and looking for myself saying, you know, who have we got to put on?
Because when I saw no movement, I couldn't understand it, I'll be honest with you, why there wasn't movement on the bench.
I was looking to see who was there, you know, and I don't know how fit Roosa Littlejohn was.
And, you know, we know she's been carrying a lot of injuries and hasn't got a lot of game time.
But, you know, you had someone like maybe Jess Stapleton, could you have put her in there maybe just to shore things up or...
Yeah, I don't know.
I suppose Carol is the best one to answer that.
She knows how the players are performing all week.
She knows fitness levels, what they're like.
But certainly, I think, you know, I definitely would look to make changes at that point, you know, to try just to stem that tide because there was definitely a goal coming, I think.
Yeah, sorry, just on that, you know, and Juliana's right, all the players in the national team or in the senior team, they're all playing abroad and they're playing in professional environments, but it's the next level down now.
We need to provide pathways for those because over the last number of years, we've had so many good players playing under 17, under 19 level.
And they're not all going to come through straight away.
Some might never come through, but one or two will come through, which they have.
You've had Abby Larkin, you've had Jessie Stapleton, etc.
