buy it by year ended as we're discussing the softness in Europe, particularly out of Germany, uh maybe uh you don't get as much uh appreciation against the US dollar by those other currency pairs.
So um as a consequence, we've uh shaved our Australian dollar uh forecast there.
Uh we're now expecting our uh uh Q four forecasts uh to be around uh sixty eight uh US cents by the end of the year.
Uh and previously we'd ex it w was expecting the Australian dollar to hit seventy US cents by the end of the year.
Yeah, you'd have to say the administration has been putting up a few um uh soundings for a few different people and I think uh Waller is one of those soundings most recently and obviously this Bloomberg article was sourced in some way.
Uh and I think if uh Governor Waller were chosen as the next vet chair, and to be clear that decision doesn't need to be made now, it could be made uh early next year.
All they really have to do at the moment is fill that empty governor position.
But uh if Governor Waller were to be
appointed then I think that would be taken relatively favourably by Marcus.
Just that he's a known quantity um uh and he's been on the FMC for for for quite some time.
Uh what gave it a little bit more currency was uh the NEC Chair Stephen uh Myron uh was on Bloomberg TV asking uh sorry answering questions uh on Waller and he said uh Governor Waller has an impressive track record.
Uh Waller has done himself a big credit by not succumbing to the tariff arrangements
syndrome um that others uh the Fed have succumbed to.
So at least there's some support in the US administration uh for Waller to be the next uh Fed chair.
But uh I don't think we're uh there yet in terms of uh knowing who we'll be.
And uh we do know that the other two candidates, uh the two Kevins, are still in contention there.
Um also worth worth noting there um
When you uh look at the FMC, look at the committee in general, um while it looks like the committee is starting to tilt more towards um uh multiple rate cuts this year, there's still some on the committee who are uh more hesitant.
So the Fed's Bostick was out overnight.
He said he was sticking to his one cut view for twenty twenty five.
