And uh at least according to some of the US bank's high frequency data, it doesn't look like it's had a too big of a impact there, uh which w which would be interesting uh in i in itself. matched

And I I g I guess the uh one area would be to look out for is uh core retail sales opposed to the headline. matched

Uh it could be that autos were relatively uh uh weak after being boosted over the past couple of months. matched

Um but uh we'll be looking quite closely at that core retail sales figure there. matched

Yeah, so the uh Bloomberg headlines around that did lead to a lot of uh gyration within FX markets there. matched

And in late Asia trading, um there was a Bloomberg article that reported US and South Korean governments had discussed currency policies this month, and that was spanning that um or I should say fanning that speculation that the Trump administration is open to a weaker US dollar and that did see the South Korean one surge over two percent in response to that report. matched

And I think a lot of people matched

had uh the recent Taiwanese experience in mind there where you saw the Taiwanese dollar uh surge qu quite quite a lot there. matched

But that US dollar weakness didn't last very long. matched

In fact I think it only lasted for about an hour before markets really turned turned around and there was an alternative report saying US officials uh are not seeking uh to include currency uh pledges within trade agreements. matched

So a little bit of r reversal there. matched

I think the US administration is still coming to terms exactly matched

where it's going with its uh US dollar policy there. matched

I don't think they um are wanting a weak US dollar. matched

Maybe they're wanting a less strong US dollar is probably the best way of seeing the phrasing around that. matched

And I think it's also clear that there's a big interaction here with US yields as well. matched
