Employment rate at four point two percent suggests.
this week.
Yes.
I think that's quite significant.
So that comes after the 10-year bond auction earlier in the week.
That was also relatively soft.
Then this one also saw tempered demand.
So it was 25 billion of 30-year bonds.
I think that was the um weakest uh auction result in about a year for the 30-year.
And uh just r uh noting that it drew uh 4.813 versus a uh four point seven nine two percent yield in pre-auction trading, and the bid to cover ratio was also really.
relatively low at two point two seven uh compared to the average of the past six um new issues at two point four.
So uh it does suggest there is a little bit of tepid demand uh for uh US bonds, at least this week, uh and particularly at the longer end there.
Yes, so there's a lot uh to uh get a handle on.
I think the Canadian employment figures are gonna be uh r relatively interesting.
Uh if you did see that unemployment rate uh continuing to rise out of Canada, then uh you'd expect probably greater chance that the Bank of England uh sorry, the Bank of Canada cuts rates again by the end of the year.
Uh also in the UK, the Bank of England's Hugh Pill, who's the chief economist there, is giving a a speech and just given he was one of the people who voted for on hold, um just worth
uh noting what his uh views are there as well.
Good morning Phil.
Yes, I think that's the key takeaway there.
And really the way the market took it at least, it certainly wasn't dovish and maybe even lent a little bit hawkish there.
