And so it June is now looking a little bit too early in terms of uh lining up a Fed rate cut.

So on the back

That you saw a few uh US investment banks uh shift their uh Fed call from uh a June cut to a July cut.

Uh and you've seen Fed funds uh pricing for June fall quite sharply.

So I think when I was just looking at my screen, uh 9.4 basis points and now price for a cut in June, and that's from 16 basis points on Thursday.

And when you look at the cumulative number of cuts for 2025, there's about 80 basis points.

worth of cuts price for twenty twenty five and that's down from about ninety three basis points on Thursday.

Uh, just in terms of the Australian election, don't think it has too much of a market implication here.

Uh the governing Labour Party was of o obviously in power before the election.

They had an outright majority.

Uh they were re elected on the weekend with an increased majority.

I guess the surprise really is the extent of the majority that the size of that they got.

And some people were saying the size of the majority is enough to ensure that they get a third term.

Um so I I g I I guess that's probably the uh people say that you know.

People tell you that

That's right, polls are really really volatile and uh the electorate's pretty volatile these these days.

But um no broad um implications, but the size of the majority, uh maybe the government is able to uh pursue some of those more ambitious reform agendas.

And so uh there's a lot of opinion pieces by academics and a few business um lobby groups saying that uh they were going to start advocating for those.

those uh just given uh how large the government majority is, they maybe actually pass some of those productivity uh enhancing reforms.

Oh yeah, yeah.
