When I left school, unemployment was about 12% in this country, and people were really freaked out about it.

Roy Morgan, the polling company, when they ring up people and say, who are you going to vote for, they're asking another question now.

Are you employed?

So this isn't the government asking people.

This is Roy Morgan ringing up 1,000, 2,000 people and they say, yeah, I'm going to vote Liberal, National, One Nation, whatever.

And then they say, look, are you currently employed?

And

They said that there's about 12% of Australians are unemployed.

So people who want a job and who don't have a job.

And I looked into it.

Why is the ABS lying to us so much?

Okay.

The rules are, if you're working one hour a week, you're not unemployed.

You're probably getting a lot of Centrelink income, but you're making some, you might be working at the bar down at the RSL.

One hour and you're not unemployed.

And they've been lying to us.

So people are walking around thinking, yeah, things don't feel great, but unemployment's not bad.

No, unemployment's really bad and the government's been lying to you about it.

We are at 12% now.
