And all that to be said, I was focusing on the wrong thing.
And so when I met Brandon, who we are now 13 years of marriage, I guess we've been together for 15 years, which is mind blowing to me.
And when we were dating, this poor patient man, he walked with me as I vacillated between these mountain peaks of confidence of like, I felt amazing about myself and I was doing Ironman and my body was amazing.
And then these like valleys where I was like,
Like, I mean, this man has patience for days.
But also he has a deep love and generous spirit to be in a curious mind in the sense of a psychology.
His mom's a therapist.
There is a deep appreciation for how the mind works in our family.
And he walked alongside me in that season.
And he just said, hey, when you can't see yourself, borrow my eyes.
And the reason I started with this story is that that's kind of what I wanted to, to anchor today's episode around.
When you can't see yourself well, borrow the eyes of someone who loves you.
Now I struggled and I would remember wrestling with him.
And so at this time, gosh, I'm, I'm probably like 27, 28.
And again, the world would be like, she's amazing.
You wouldn't have known that I was struggling on the inside.
He called me an M&M, hard on the inside, soft on the, hard on the outside, soft on the inside.
But when I would let my guard down, that's when he saw the real, all the insecurities, all the, do you really love me?
You don't want to be with someone who looks like her.
All the trash came out.
