You might discover that some days group meditation feels wonderful, and other days you need complete solitude, that sometimes breath work helps, and sometimes simply sitting quietly is enough, and that your ideal practice can change depending on your emotional state and your environment.
The more you observe these patterns without judging them, the easier it becomes to create a meditation practice that supports you rather than one that makes you feel like you have to become someone else in order to meditate correctly.
Now, I want to be honest with you.
This isn't a hard rule that never bends.
And human design doesn't need to become another set of rules telling you what you should or shouldn't do.
Some people with an undefined or open solar plexus genuinely enjoy group meditation and may find it deeply supportive, even when they're surrounded by people with defined solar plexus centers, a calm, well held space.
Space can create a sense of safety, connection, and presence.
And for some people, that shared energy can actually make meditation easier rather than more difficult.
So the point isn't to hear this information and immediately decide: I have an open solar plexus, therefore I shouldn't meditate with other people.
The point is to become more aware of your own experience.
Notice what happens before you enter a
Group meditation, what you experience while you're there, and perhaps most importantly, what happens after you leave.
Sometimes we focus so much on whether we were able to relax during meditation that we forget to notice how the practice actually affects us afterward.
Maybe you leave feeling lighter, calmer, more grounded, and more connected to yourself.
Maybe you feel energized in a peaceful way.
and carry that sense of calm with you for the rest of the day.
But perhaps you leave feeling unusually emotional, drained, restless, or overwhelmed.
Even though nothing particularly negative happened during the meditation, that doesn't automatically mean the group was wrong for you.
And it doesn't mean that the emotions weren't yours.
It simply gives you something worth observing.
