And his rating among independent voters in rural America is at the lowest point of any president since World War II.
It's down to 29%.
Because when I talk to the people I grew up with here, nobody voted to cut
Even though this is the net result of their vote, nobody conscientiously voted to cut health care funding or to keep ambulances from being able to show up on those farms to help out little kids.
The thought process just didn't take them all the way through to the end result of what that vote would mean.
And now, as we say out here, and I've heard you say it before, Don, the chickens are coming home to roost.

The negative part of this is that it had to happen to begin with.
I'm still just dumbfounded by that.
But the positive part of this is that the results are being seen now and there's a trend back in the other direction.
Not as fast as we want to see it.
It's not as many people as we want to see, but it is happening.
And for me, that offers hope.

This is an all out assault on farming in this country.
