Could I still do everything I could to support 'em?
Could I still have a meaningful and successful life, happy life?
Um, could I enjoy my kid and love him the way he is?
And almost everybody if they really think about it and say, Yeah, I would.
I I could.
And I think that that that in itself of looking at what's my worst fear about life.
But all virtually all are afear about our kids.
It's about as as Ned was saying.
It's about the future.
It's that they're gonna get stuck in some negative place and never get better.
And that's why taking this long view for many families is is really helpful.
And having done this so long, as then said, we can say, look at I've seen dozens and dozens and dozens of kids like this who struggle and they they do a lot better.
And I think your kid is likely to be one of those.
really helps.
And for kids who are are more kids who are intellectually disabled or kids who have really severe autism.
uh where they may not be fully independent, then I think that this idea of of looking at our worst fears, making peace with it, and really practicing it kids, accepting kids as they are.
Because this idea if we want them to accept themselves.
We want to work on our own fear and our own anxiety so that we can accept that.
And we talk about this in the third chapter of our book, which is about kids as decision makers.
And as we talked about earlier, our view is we want to encourage kids.
