And there's little tactical ways that you can do that that I find intriguing.
I have a couple that taught me about this skill they do every single day where they sit down at the end of the day and they say, here's a feeling I had and here's why I had this feeling.
And so he might say, I felt frustrated today because I was on a sales call and I really thought this woman was gonna buy my business, but she didn't buy it and now I'm frustrated.
And then his wife will say,
I can see how you'd be frustrated by being on a sales call and having a high expectation for your business and then it didn't come through.
And that's all she does.
Even if he says, I was really frustrated today because you said you were going to make pizza for dinner and I got home and there were tacos.
And she's not like, well, it's because... She would say, I can see how you were upset because you were expecting pizza and you got tacos instead.
And that's upsetting.
But the exercise for the two of them that they do every single day, and she's better at it than he is, he has to write them down, is that he has dramatically expanded his vocabulary, his emotional vocabulary,
They have become much more tuned to one another in terms of just what they feel and why.
And they're both practicing empathy and compassion every single day.
For a guy who was not good at it, but who decided, I want to have a broad emotional vocabulary.
I want to be attuned to my partner.
I want to understand compassion.
He's just taken on this simple practice.
It takes 18 sentences or something.
It doesn't take long.
It's less than five minutes and they do it every day.
Yeah.
