I didn't – I wasn't necessarily trying to get a job at Triple J. I really loved my job.

I went from SRA, CNFM, to volunteering at Triple R, worked at Triple R for $17,000 a year.

Yeah.

It's great.

Like two and a half days a week.

Yeah.

And did a volunteer radio show.

And from there, met someone one day at a kind of industry event who said, oh, hey, do you want to come and start doing some overnights at Triple J?

But I've been volunteering at that stage.

I reckon that was when I was 26, 27.

So I've been volunteering for seven years.

Long time.

But when people talk to me about that, I'm like,

They're like, I can't believe you worked for free for so long.

It's like I wasn't working for free.

I was learning how to do.

And people were giving me the opportunity to learn how to do that, you know, on their equipment, on their airwaves.

It was just remarkable.

And like I said, I made so many incredible friends that I still have to this day.

So, yeah, I sort of had a bit of a – I had a delayed –
