But I want to start, though, with your story, like how your comedy evolved, how you got involved in comedy, and then what some of the headwinds you got involved with and what we should be doing about that. Because I will tell you one thing. From my perspective, I'm biased as follows. I sat there during COVID going, where are the comedians? Where are the comedians raising their hand and going, hey, this is bullshit. What's going on? What is going on?
They towed the line. It was wild to see. But I want to hear your story.
Well, what you're saying is absolutely correct. I got into comedy. I'm from Reno, Nevada. So I just moved to California and just started hitting the open mics. And I just thought if it's funny and the people laugh, we're good to go. But I found that when I went to Irvine, Pasadena, I get these big laughs. And then I'm in Venice Beach, Hollywood, what they call that TMZ, that 30 mile zone. And people would come up and go, you really need to work on your humor. I go, how do I get a standing ovation last night? I'm getting reprimanded. I was not into politics. at all dr drew and then it all started to kind of get unveiled when the the different college uh crowds i would do i would start to see this crowd like me this one and i go oh this left and right thing is kind of a map that if you really focus on it and i hate to i wish it wasn't so polarized but that's how easy it was to know if i was going to do well or i was going to get a lot of pushback and so i just started doing my shows on the road and luckily with the internet i could lob material and it would find its people
And the views were going up and the left is like, we can't stop this kind of, you know, viral videos anymore because TV is not what it used to be. Going on the Kimmel show is not as good as getting a viral video on TikTok.
