I very much appreciate you. I mean, I know you just literally got to Arizona like two days ago, right?

I mean, the fact that you are jumping on right now is awesome. I really do appreciate your time. And I always like to do this with the new guys. I am the first person that's going to be interviewing you, right? Am I the first?

I love that. That I do love. That I do love. Well, let's just jump right into it. Obviously, you were part of a fairly big trade for the Chicago White Sox coming from the Red Sox with Jordan Hicks as well. But Chris Getz, the GM of the White Sox, seems really, really excited for you, which is awesome. I mean, there's definitely some expectations, which is great. What was your personal first reaction to hearing about the trade?
I would say shocked, obviously. Part of me thought it was a possibility this offseason, and then it was just getting so close to camps that I was like, okay, I'm just getting ready to go down to Fort Myers. Just getting all the traveling plans, had the house set up down there, and then... I was on my way home from church with my wife, and I saw Breslow's phone number pop up, and I looked at her, and I said, I wonder where we're going.
Oh, my gosh.
Yeah, right? So I kind of knew there was only one reason why he was calling on a random Sunday. Right. I think that it was shocked, but then obviously just excited about the new opportunity and then excited to know that I knew some of the guys over here playing with them in the Boston system and some of the guys I worked out with in the offseason. Yeah. Just super excited to get back to baseball either way.
So what exactly did Breslow say to you? I mean, was it a quick conversation? Was it, you know, I mean, what did he say and what exactly did he say to you? I'm always curious about those conversations.
It was pretty quick. Just, how are you doing? Hey, just wanted to let you know we traded you to the Chicago White Sox. It was pretty quick, which is, from my two times being traded, is pretty standard.
Makes sense. Obviously makes sense.
What was David Sandlin's reaction to being traded to the White Sox?
Um, you had mentioned that you knew some of the players, um, on the team already, who are some of those guys that you know, and what's your relationship with them?
Uh, so obviously Teal, uh, Chase, um, Wiki, those guys that came over from Boston playing with them and Portland or wherever it may have been. And then, um, In the offseason in Oklahoma City, Davis Martin was also training at the facility with me, so I got to meet him, and he's kind of been someone that's showed me around these first few days, kind of took me under his wing, showed me the ropes. And Chris Murphy as well, got to see him again today, him being with Boston and AAA with me last year, someone who really helped me kind of in that transition to the bullpen and the mentality of it and kind of how to act like a pro.
You know, it's funny. Davis Martin is officially the oldest tenured White Sox member now. I'm not sure if he's he's like truly the veteran of that team. He is the longest standing member of the Chicago White Sox, which is kind of crazy to think about. I think he's what, 29 maybe. I mean, yeah, he's a yeah, he's a fairly young guy himself. But I do love hearing that he's kind of taking you under his wing and showing you kind of that leadership and that veteran presence. That's awesome. Yeah. What was there anything that like when you heard the news, anyone from the White Sox reached out to you? Who was the first person that did that?
So the first phone call was from gets calling me saying he's fired up.
