For anyone who missed it, the Jays are up four nothing in this one. Uh Chris Bassett gives up a couple. Uh Louis Varlin and Brendan Little combined to give up one. And then in the ninth, uh Jeff Hoffman gives up four. That includes the home run on the first pitch to Mickey Gasper, the first home run of his career. Uh sorry, second pitch. It was one-o sinker uh up in the zone. And that tied the game. And then from there Things really went off the rails. So um you could certainly nitpick with the job Louis Varland did. Brandon Little mostly did a solid job. He did allow one of the inherited runners to score, but once again kind of pitch inefficient, uh hit a batter, walked a batter, uh, and then

ball, yes. So I was not going to hang that on Brandon Little. Um, but as we know with that knuckle curve, uh things can get a little wild there. But really, Jeff Hoffman is the big one here. And like you said, the bullpen in general is the big story right now. Since the all-star break, only the Colorado Rockies have a worse bullpen ERA than the Toronto Blue Jays. That is there is no stat you want to be next to the Colorado Rockies in whatsoever. Um spending on analytics and infrastructure, uh ERA saves, strikeouts, anything. There's nothing you want to be next to the Colorado Rockies on. Except maybe that one sandwich shop that that Keegan really likes. We'll talk about it later.

Yes. Uh but you don't want to be next to them in something like bullpen ERA over a really crucial six-week stretch. Uh the Blue Jays ERA over that time, this is since the all-star break, is at 560. And if we look under the hood, so we could look at fielding independent pitching, which mostly just focuses on strikeouts, walks, and home runs, they are still really bad. They're bottom 10, it's a 466 FIP. So what are we talking about?
