What is the premise of today’s Second Date Update episode?
Ooh, I cannot wait for you to hear the brand new Second Date episode that is about to begin. Yes. Good. The reason our listener had to stay physically so far away from the guy on the date is just hysterical to me. Uh yeah. You can't beat it. So uh that's about to begin. But before we do it, thank you for being here on the official podcast for the second date update. And we love to highlight your comments. Yeah. Yeah,
oh I I'm a little late on this one because you'll see why. Kendria said, Hey guys, this was a few days ago. This is the last second date update I'll listen to for a year and a half. I'm serving a church mission for months. Well I can't wait to hear all the amazing second date updates when I come home. Oh my god. Thank you for everything. I'll see you in April twenty twenty eight. So you still listen to podcasts on a church mission, can't you? You got no Wi Fi? You got no wifi?
What's going on? Yikes.
We've actually been banned from all churches. That actually
puberty hits and my voice sounds different in two years, she's not gonna recognize us. That'll be
exciting though for her. Yeah. And for you. Alright. I
don't
know.
Yeah. Let's get your brand new episode starting right now. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Second date update.
A lot of people will look back after a first date and ask themselves, what did I do wrong? Yeah.
Was it every single time, Jeff? Yeah. You
go into specifics. Was it something I said, something I did? No. Or in today's case, was it something I smelled?
Uh oh. Wait 'cause uh smelled like or just Well our listener Lindsay
emailed saying she thinks a certain smell may have been working against her. Uh uh. And she's now asking for our help. Lindsay, welcome to the show.
Thanks. Hey you guys, how are you?
Who is Lindsay and why did she stay far away from her date?
You
don't have to be embarrassed. It's happened to all of us.
I I'm not sure about that.
Oh I think we're all thinking the same thing.
I don't know. All
right,
yeah,
what's going on, Toots McGee?
I'm sorry, Blinsey. I work with some very, very immature people on this show.
That's what we're all thinking. Poop
jokes. Great. Okay. Okay.
It was just flatchless. Yes. So high brown finger joke.
Anyway, Lindsay, why don't you take us back to the beginning, get us on track. Who is this guy? Where'd you meet him?
Yeah, his name is Robert. I met him on the app. He's so he's cute and funny and he's just someone that I really wanted to meet. I was really excited. And uh
so you still had hope. You still had hope in your dating life when you met him?
Yeah. Well you can't lose hope. But I wanted to impress them so I I tried this new body lotion. This lady at the store sold it to me. She said it would smell great. Oh a new body
lotion. That sounds wonderful.
That's what you would think. You would think, but I put on too much and I didn't realize it until I was in the car. Oh. I smelled like a popcorn bucket.
Smell like a bucket of buttered popcorn? I mean, it could be worse.
No, wait, I don't like to smell like food. And so I was very self conscious.
I bet you're in a state of panic when you realize 'cause I understand what you mean. Like you put something on, you're like, Oh, that smells good, it'll fade and then you get in the car and it's just like that has not faded.
Yeah. You can't just like wipe it off. And so yeah. The plan was to get something to eat and I thought, Oh, we can't do that. And so I just said, Why don't we play tennis instead?
Well activity. You should have gone the other way, taking him to a movie theater, and then he wouldn't know who smelled like popcorn. You're like, this popcorn
is
fresh. Yeah.
So instead of being like indoors for your date, you decide to do an outdoor activity where you're very far away from each other and have no chance of exchanging smells for it.
Oh, I didn't think of that. Girl, are you even dressed for this?
I mean I I kinda was. I had like a little dress on, but he was like, Oh, I'm not really dressed for this but he still agreed.
Oh
Um, I did have a couple of rackets in my car. So we went to play some tennis, but then I was sweating. And so then the sweat mixed with the buttery popcorn smell and like intensified it.
