Chapter 1: What niche dating app did Troy use to find his match?
Nobody had to tell your grandparents not to drive while using their typewriters. Why should it be any different for us kids and our cell phones? Distracted driving was the cause of more than 3,000 deaths in 2022. Come on, we're smarter than this. Let's put down the phones and focus on the roads. Drive safe, everybody.
Don't drive distracted. A message brought to you by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Project Yellow Light, and the Ad Council.
And she said, Johnny, the kids didn't come home last night.
Along the central Texas plains, teens are dying. Suicides that don't make sense. Strange accidents and brutal murders. In what seems to be a plot ripped straight out of Breaking Bad.
Drugs, alcohol, trafficking of people. There are people out there that absolutely know what happened.

Hi, I'm Dani Shapiro.
We were in the car, like a Rolling Stone came on, and he said, there's a line in there about your mother.
And I said, what?
What I would do if I didn't feel like I was being accepted is choose an identity that other people can't have.
I knew something had happened to me in the middle of the night, but I couldn't hold on to what had happened.

Chapter 3: How did Troy and Larissa's conversation about bacon start?
My best-selling book, The Big Short, tells the story of the buildup and burst of the U.S. housing market back in 2008. A decade ago, The Big Short was made into an Academy Award-winning movie. Now I'm bringing it to you for the first time. as an audiobook narrated by yours truly.
The Big Short story, what it means to bet against the market, and who really pays for an unchecked financial system, is as relevant today as it's ever been. Get The Big Short now at pushkin.fm slash audiobooks, or wherever audiobooks are sold. We're all familiar with the big dating apps out there. You've heard of the Hinges, OKCupid's, the couple to throuples.
But what happens when you've tried all the big ones with not much success? You quit. You go to quadruples. well sometimes yeah kind of or you add more yeah sometimes you gotta move on to the lesser known more niche dating apps and apparently that's how our listener troy was able to find himself a connection so let's learn a little bit more about it troy welcome to the show
Hey, thanks for having me on. I'm excited to hang out with you guys on the radio.
Chapter 4: What did Troy and Larissa talk about during their date?
Look at that, Troy. Coming in pretty direct. I like that, Troy.
A little direct, a little bit over-eager if you ask me, but that's okay. It was a coffee. It was a coffee. I apologize. Yeah, that's fine. We heard from your email that you met somebody on one of the niche dating apps. Yeah, Larissa.
Larissa, what's that one about?
That's the girl that's not the app. Oh, her name. The girl you met is Larissa. I thought Larissa was the new dating app that everybody was trying out.
Chapter 5: What was the highlight of Troy and Larissa's first date?
Kind of a cute app name. It's like Adam and Eve Larissa. She's saucy.
Sorry, that was so stupid. What's the app that you met on?
It's called Sizzle. Sizzle. Sizzle. Have you ever heard of it? I feel like I have. Is that just because of sizzle reels?
No.
Brooke's pretending like she hasn't been on it.
She definitely has.
Is this the Bacon Lovers one?

Chapter 6: What did Larissa think about Troy's Game of Thrones spoilers?
Yeah. Oh, that'd be funny. I like that. Yeah. It's the Bacon Dating app. Really? That's why I know it. Wait, Jose, you've heard of this? Yeah. I think we talked about it on the show before. Sizzle. I've heard it. I don't know it, but I swear I've heard it.
Same.
For Bacon Lovers, huh?
Chapter 7: How did Troy react to Larissa's feedback after the date?
For Bacon Lovers, yeah. And, like, I've tried all the regular ones, you know? Right. I was talking to one of my friends, and... He was saying that there's like surprisingly cute girls on sizzle. And at first I hadn't heard of this. Yeah. So I joined it and there are cute girls on there. And you know instantly that if they order a salad only at dinner, then they're a catfish, right? Big trouble.
Big trouble. Yeah. Okay. So you said the girl that you met, her name is Larissa. What brought you two together?
Chapter 8: Will Troy get a second chance with Larissa?
Obviously you start talking about bacon, right? I think that was like the way to break the ice. And that's a good talk because you can say, hey, do you like floppy bacon? Do you like crispy bacon? And immediately you're having a combo. You just meet us on the chart one through ten. What's your bacon? You're not really breaking the ice. You're breaking the grease, if anything, on this side.
That's true. Well, the thing is, I'm a crispy bacon fan. I don't like floppy. Yeah, floppy's no good. What? Floppy's great.
I like it all.
I love a good floppy one followed by a black and crispy ashy one.
Okay. This bacon topic is really dangerous. Sorry.
So let's try and focus, though, on Larissa about what you liked about her and her personality. Well, she's bright, she's bubbly, she's cute. We hit it off talking, right? So I find a place that serves breakfast for dinner.
Oh, that's cute. I mean, it's called IHOP, right?
Well, here's the thing. We're bacon aficionados. I want to pick a place that has that, too. So they had two different kinds of bacon. They had regular and peppered bacon. Oh, my gosh. Those places that'll say, like, we cut our own bacon and season it. I love those diners. Okay. Wow. So, I mean, you show up, and what is that like? We were definitely having fun.
It felt like we were having, like, brunch at 6 p.m. Yeah. Because that was literally what was happening. Pretty much it. Yeah. We were talking about other things other than Bacon, too. We talked about favorite TV shows, like hers is American Idol.
