What is the main topic of today's episode?
Hi, I'm Dani Shapiro.
We were in the car, like a rolling stone came on, and he said, there's a line in there about your mother. And I said, what? What I would do if I didn't feel like I was being accepted is choose an identity that other people can't have. I knew something had happened to me in the middle of the night, but I couldn't hold on to what had happened.
These are just a few of the moving and important stories on my 13th season of Family Secrets. Listen to Family Secrets on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Michael Lewis here. My best-selling book, The Big Short, tells the story of the buildup and burst of the U.S. housing market back in 2008. A decade ago, The Big Short was made into an Academy Award-winning movie, and now I'm bringing it to you for the first time as an audiobook narrated by yours truly. The Big Short story, what it means to bet against the market, and who really pays for an unchecked financial system, is as relevant today as it's ever been. Get The Big Short now at pushkin.fm slash audiobooks, or wherever audiobooks are sold.
whether it is getting swatted or just hateful messages online. There is a lot of harm in even just reading the comments.

What are the cycles fathers pass down that sons are left to heal? What if being a man wasn't about holding it all together, but learning how to let go? This is a space where men speak truth and find the power to heal and transform. I'm Mike Della Rocha. Welcome to Sacred Lessons. Listen to Sacred Lessons on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Dr. Laurie Santos from the Happiness Lab here. It's the season of giving, and this year my podcast, The Happiness Lab, is partnering with GiveDirectly, a nonprofit that provides people in extreme poverty with the cash they need as part of the Pods Fight Poverty campaign. Our goal this year is to raise $1 million, which will bring over 700 families out of extreme poverty. Your donation will put cash directly in the hands of these families in need. And they'll get to decide how to use it, whether that's school transportation, purchasing livestock, or starting a business. Plus, if you're a first-time donor, your gift will be matched by giving multiplier, which means more money for those in need. Visit givedirectly.org slash happiness lab to learn more and to donate.

Thank you.
What is happening to America's cuisine? What do you mean? It's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. We all know how insane food portion sizes are at a lot of our restaurants. That's how we like it. If the table doesn't creak when they set my plate down, then it's not enough food. Exactly. We are the only country that names menu items like they're designed to kill you. Yes. I'll take the Gut Buster Deluxe Chunk Burger with the heart attack stack of pancakes and the triple bypass fried butter bacon bomb sundae. Ooh, can I get a side of ranch with that? Oh, yeah. In a bowl. Try the Stroke cinnamon butter. It is so good. Delicious. Because according to a new report, portion sizes in the U.S. shot up back in the 1980s.
Yeah. And they never really came back down since then. It's kind of a gimmick at first. Experts are now saying there's a good chance that's all about to change. Probably should, guys. Is it shrinkflation again? What's happening? Several reasons why. One, restaurants are dealing with rising food costs. So it's just too expensive to put that much food on a plate now.
