So Fowler was arrested and charged in relation to all of that conspiracy to kill. What what did he what was he done for?
Yeah, so i he was known for facilitating. So that I mean, that was basically, you know, the logistics side of it. So he he he when Nimir Arrakis um arrived in the Dublin airport, if you remember, I mean, you've talked about this before. He went for a little walk about in the the north in a city and went to Wasn't it Patsy Hutch's house and had a look and then went up and past Avondale House where Gareth Hutch was was murdered and eventually kind of made his way towards a h hotel in the north end of the city where he was picked up by a van emblazoned with Blakestown tires driven by um Stephen Fowler and brought him back to his house in in Blakestown cottages in Clonsilla, which is where the guards found him uh when they when they raided
And from memory, when they saw that car pull in and Stephen Fowler in the front, they realized that this thre there was a hit on. So what what what was Stephen Fowler? Was he he was very well known at that stage? Like he was in his sixties, I think, wasn't he? But he was known to the Guardian as being an associate of
Yeah, he was a career criminal, really. I mean, he'd been done for cannabis farm and had had served time for that previously. Um and he did have longstanding I suppose connections with uh in particular with uh r Ross Browning, which is y y y you know, as we know now, is has been described in criminal access beers hearings as uh the Kenan Cartel's number one m man in Ireland and you know leading the one point five billion Uh criminal operations. So Fowler was connected to people at the very top of the Kinehan cartel.
So he was um charged, I think he ultimately pleaded guilty, did he?
Yeah, he he did. And I mean he's he's one of at that time I think it was six people uh that were convicted for this particular plot. Um now McGovern was later Sean McGovern was later uh convicted for that and he's serving twenty four years for a director in a criminal organization.

And uh of course the other significant, I suppose, uh uh conviction in that one was uh Pat Patrick Heating as well. And this is all about, you know, they were they were trying to get trackers on the car on on Gately's car in Newry. Um they were they Was it was it David Duffy, I think, was the guy who was trying to put the tracker on and was spotted by a security man at the apartment block in in Northern Ireland. Um, and uh they didn't, they weren't necessarily aware then that another person, allegedly Daniel Kinhan, was in direct contact with other people. And Imory Arakis was the guy who had been hired in. Of course, he's come up again then in another part of the forest this week where his former boss, who's now been charged or is is going to be.
His case has gone to court for a murder in Lithuania is it, I think. And he was extra titled from Spain. Right. So like I mean uh this is all it's it there's an incredible parallel actually with Daniel Kinan, like in a way that these guys are are being kind of rolled up for for things that happened, you know, well over ten years ago or or around ten years ago. Um but uh
