Most people don't realize how much of their personal information is being bought and sold every day. Data brokers are making billions pulling details about you from public records and the internet, then packaging and selling it, usually without your consent. That's how your information lands in the hands of scammers, spammers, even stalkers. That's where Aura comes in. And even up to $5 million in identity theft insurance. All backed by 24-7 U.S.-based fraud support. Other companies might just sell credit monitoring or just a VPN. Aura gives you all of that together at the same price competitors charge for just one service. Start your free trial today at aura.com slash prevent. Protect yourself now at aura.com slash prevent.

What's up, everybody, and welcome back to another edition of DIY Money.
Logan (host) 1:27
DIY Money.
Allie Howard 1:28
Logan, how's your new year starting? What's shaking?
Logan (host) 1:31
It's been pretty good. You know, again, I was just talking with Quint. I have a birthday coming up that I'm excited for. And, you know, I am now in my smoker phase. So I am trying to get out. That sounded wrong. Kindly leave. Everyone goes through their smoker phase.
Allie Howard 1:50
We get it.
Logan (host) 1:51
I am smoking like a pellet smoker. So I'm going to be doing some pulled pork this weekend, and I am fired up. And then also some wings as well. But I have to start. It's like a long process. It's like eight hours or ten hours or something to do this. So I have to get up at like 6 a.m. and put it on the grill. So I've got to get it all cleaned up and ready to go.
Allie Howard 2:11
Didn't you try that this past weekend, or did you not get to do it?
Logan (host) 2:14
No, so this past weekend I— I know it was on the docket. No, I was supposed to do it this past weekend. I was going to get it, start doing things, and it just rained the whole weekend. Sorry to bring that up. This weekend, we're probably going to get snow, so I might be out there in my fur coat, but I'll be doing it this weekend regardless. I'm going to be out there. Yeah, I'm pumped. What about you? What are you doing in the winter to keep yourself active and engaged and everything like that? You have a big goal here in January, right?
Allie Howard 2:40
Oh, geez. Yeah, I decided to do Whole30 for January. I've never done anything like this before, and so it's day two, so I'm feeling okay for now, but we'll see. You'll probably be able to tell on the podcast in the next few weeks if I'm really hangry. That's why.
Logan (host) 2:54
For those people that don't know, what is...
Allie Howard 2:56
Basically, you can't have anything that you want. That's the way I like to summarize it. So, a lot of it... So, it's like no sugar, no alcohol, no grains, no blah, blah, blah, nothing processed, no sweets. Basically, you can eat meat, like protein, vegetables. You can have natural sugar, so you can have fruit, dried fruit, stuff like that, which keeps me sane. But for the most part, it's a lot of meat, a lot of vegetables, and just... drinking a lot of water. It's going to be really good. That's fantastic.
Logan (host) 3:27
I'm excited for it. And this is like day two.
Allie Howard 3:29
Yeah, day two.
Logan (host) 3:30
But no, you know, cravings yet. No headaches.
Allie Howard 3:34
I mean, I wouldn't go that far. I've definitely, I was eyeing a donut yesterday I really wanted. My friend was going to make homemade cinnamon rolls and I had to shut that down real quick. So it's going to be tough because I love a good sweet. Like I'm a big, especially for breakfast, love a good pancake moment.
Unknown 3:51
Nice.
Allie Howard 3:52
So, but I'll make it. It'll be fine.
Unknown 3:53
That's good. Great. I think I got it. But just in case, tell me the whole thing again. I wasn't listening.
Logan (host) 4:00
Well, let's go ahead and get over to our last Back to the Basics episode. And we haven't done this in prior years, but we wanted to break down a little bit further. our wealth development, wealth creation phase of the kind of steps, the DIY money steps. Now, again, this is after we're talking after the stage of having your fast cash, having your emergency fund, having a budget, paying off debt after those phases are done.
