By the landscapers. Yeah, thanks for bringing that up. He should be behind bars. They're looking really good.
What personal updates and small-talk topics do the hosts share first?
I have a few zinnias that are like probably a... foot and a half now question mark okay which is good and they look like they're maybe like two weeks out from blooming yeah which is perfect that will coincide with a vacation i'll be taking shortly so i'll miss the first bloom i think but i'm actually feeling like knock on wood is there wood in here yes knocking on wood i feel like we might get some flowers and that is not how i was feeling a few weeks ago now was it all flowers or you vegetables and stuff too I did. Well, I planted a tomato plant. Thank you so much. And some peppers. And those were some of the ones that got ripped up by the roots because they got seeded before. I didn't plant them at the same time.
Now, the second thing that everybody's waiting and this is where my brain went when you started talking about this. How has the bird watching?
So good. I signed up for, I forgot to tell you this, actually. I signed up for that church birdwatching group over the summer, which they're only meeting three times. And when I signed up, the woman who ran it didn't check her email, which that kind of tracks, right? So I missed the first meeting, but I went to the second meeting maybe two weeks ago, question mark. It was amazing. Was it fun? It was just me and my friend with me. Is it a meeting?
When you say meeting, you're like birdwatching.
Like meeting up. Yes, we went bird watching. It wasn't like sit down around corporate desks.
I was going to say, let's talk about bird watching.
We met up to hang. It was our meeting. That's what they called them.
So my brain is a little bit all over the place today, as you can tell. Yes, it is. But I think this story is so funny because when I was a kid, I was in middle school or something. And everything I loved to do was sports related. And I... My mom was like, okay, I have you with the neighbor kids. I have you signed up for sports camp. You're going to go play sports every day. So I get to sports camp on the first day. It wasn't sports camp at all. It was nature camp. And we literally the first day. So apparently this is the story. My mom tells me it's probably totally a lie. She probably just wanted me to go to nature camp or something. But the story that I was told was that there wasn't enough interest in sports camp.
So they transitioned it to nature camp.
It all makes perfect sense now. That's what happened for sure.
That's a lie.
Those kids do not want to play a sport.
The last thing that a 12-year-old boy wants to do is play sports.
I think that the older you get, like I still love sports. I still like to work out, run, climb, be outside, all the things. Okay, check, check, check. I think the older you get, the more it's just nice to sit and be and watch nature, see the birds. That's fair. That's fair. I'm in like a middle-aged woman era now.
Fair enough.
I think because I'm wanting to watch birds. Like it's just so cool. And it was fun. They obviously know what they're doing. I did not. So I basically told them, tell me what I'm looking for. And they would like hear something and be like, oh my goodness, it's a blue blah, blah, blah. And I was like, whoa. And they'd be like, I hear it. It's over there. And then sure enough, we'd take our binoculars and go, oh, it's right on the tree. Like they could like buy the sound.
Yeah.
Blue Merlin. That's what it was for those out there.
