Hey, welcome in to another episode of DIY Money.
Allie Howard 0:16
DIY Money. What's shaking at Howard? Not a lot in my world. I just talked about my plants and my bird watching for way too long on the last episode. What's new in your world, though?
Logan (host) 0:27
Oh man, I mean, work is busy. We are obviously, you know, this market is very interesting. We've had a few rough days in the market as we're cutting this. We're cutting this on the 23rd of July, and there is a lot of volatility in the market, a lot of concerns about overseas geopolitics, as well as just an overall kind of turning to a degree or selling to a degree of AI companies and AI stocks with concerns that companies, last night's earnings were Tesla and Google, that they're spending too much money on AI build-out and maybe not having the results that investors are expecting. It's a fascinating world right now. So it's a fascinating world right now. I mean, I'm doing a lot of working and studying and that kind of thing.
Logan (host) 1:12
Softball is going great. That's been a lot of fun. We got absolutely whizzacked on our first game, but we had to get used to it.
Allie Howard 1:19
You just played one, right?
Logan (host) 1:20
We've only played one. Yeah, we've only played one official game. We played two trial games or like exhibition games against, it's funny, one of our friends is a prison guard. So we played against the prison guards. Yeah. It felt like the longest yard or something. So it was a lot of fun, though. Wow. And we smoked them, but then we went to this other league, and we're like, oh, we got this. You know, we're playing against a bunch of 50- and 60-year-olds. No problem. Well, come to find out, these guys have been playing together for 20 years. They are all stars. I mean, they're beast mode. Like, they're doing backflips in the outfield catching the balls. It's amazing, but it's been a lot of fun.
Allie Howard 1:54
Look, the Savannah Bananas of... They basically are.
Logan (host) 1:57
They are the Savannah Bananas, the elderly Savannah Bananas that are just out here smoking us in softball. It's great. It was a lot of fun. But, you know, we got to shift some things around and make it happen.
Allie Howard 2:09
How long is your season?
Logan (host) 2:10
It's like six weeks.
Allie Howard 2:12
Oh, okay.
Logan (host) 2:13
It's not like crazy or anything. This is a church softball league. It's not that intense. Softball on Monday nights is all I got, and you ain't taking it from me. But these guys, the elderly Savannah Bananas are kind of balling. yeah yeah i believe that about the savannah softballers they're ballers they really are okay well let's get right into it today because we have a great question today um first thing let's take a quick pause for our sponsors all right send us those questions podcast at diymoney.org that's podcast at diymoney.org if we use your question on the show you get a 25 amazon gift card or Check us out on the socials, DIY Money Podcast, on all the platforms out there. So definitely check that stuff out. All right, Allie, our question today is from?
Allie Howard 3:04
Kunal. Kunal, what do you got?
D-I-Y.
Kunal Patel 3:08
Hey DIY Money, this is Kunal Patel from New Jersey. So I have a pretty important question to ask you. With SpaceX becoming an IPO, I've heard that SpaceX is actually going to be in the NASDAQ. I'm a big investor of QQQ, XLK, and VUG. I think VUG and QQQ are pretty NASDAQ based. And I'm exposed to being exposed to SpaceX. I really don't believe in it. I really do think it's like... Okay.
Logan (host) 3:58
So this is a great question, phenomenal question. And people have this. Like, I see this a lot. There's people that are looking at a basket or an index of stocks, and they have a position that they don't agree with or don't want to have or don't want to have exposure to. And Kunal sounds like he's in that space and maybe thinks – he said, I don't really believe in SpaceX. You know, I don't know if it's the valuation he doesn't agree with.
