Most people don't realize how much of their personal information is being bought and sold every day. Data brokers are making billions pulling details about you from public records and the internet, then packaging and selling it, usually without your consent. That's how your information lands in the hands of scammers, spammers, even stalkers. That's where Aura comes in. And even up to $5 million in identity theft insurance. All backed by 24-7 U.S.-based fraud support. Other companies might just sell credit monitoring or just a VPN. Aura gives you all of that together at the same price competitors charge for just one service. Start your free trial today at aura.com slash prevent. Protect yourself now at aura.com slash prevent.

Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to listening to another edition of DIY Money. DIY Money.
Logan (host) 1:24
Well, now that you're in your kind of like quasi-retirement life, how's the golf game coming?
Quint (host) 1:31
So one of the things I have wanted to do for a very long time, and I have not had the time to do it because it does take some time, is play more golf. And I have just—so what many people may not know about me— I played a lot of golf as a kid. Grew up on a golf course. Okay. It was free. It was in my backyard. I'd play in the summer, 36 yards. holes a day like really oh yeah yeah go just run out play golf come home i mean it's crazy all the time i know that yeah all the time but when you're like 12 and you're playing you do not think about it like you just go out hit the ball and you it's muscle memory you hit the ball whatever and and so i played on my golf team i was a decent golfer i then went to college this is 1996 okay do the math that's a long time ago it's over 30 it's 30 years ago holy crap
Quint (host) 2:23
You're getting old. I got to pay for golf. Okay. And I'm at college. I'm no longer golfing. Right. At all. Period. So I basically haven't golfed other than a, you know, tournament here and there in 30 years. So forget that, you know, youth, like it's gone. There's no muscle memory. It's gone. And I'm, I have just resolved that I'm a brand new golfer. Okay. That's what I am. I'm a brand new golfer. So I have been playing more. My middle son really likes to play. And so we go out whenever we can. That's become our thing. I get a captive audience in the cart. You know, I could talk to him and so forth. And he's pretty good. He's good. He's very good athlete. And he's picked it up pretty quickly. I am terrible. I mean, he's not good either.
Quint (host) 3:07
Like we're both bad. Yeah. But I mean, I'm terrible.
Logan (host) 3:09
Do you ever get like actually good at golf? I feel like.
Quint (host) 3:10
Yes, but it takes work, okay? And it's like anything else. If you want to get good at something, you have to invest the time and energy, and more often than not, you have to hire a coach, okay? So guess what yesterday was? Practice. Yesterday was my very first golf lesson. Okay. I had a golf lesson from Sarah. Sarah over at Keen Trace in Lexington, Kentucky. Shout out, Sarah. And I told Sarah at the end of the golf lesson, which is 45 minutes, by the way. I haven't hit balls for a 45-minute time period in my entire life. I mean, like consistently. So I couldn't feel my hands. I was sweating. It was awful. You're very proud of your blisters. Oh, I do have a wicked blister here, which I had a golf glove on today, but it's got all... Anyways, I was practicing today as well.
Quint (host) 3:53
But anyways, I told Sarah, Sarah, you should have videoed this, put it on Instagram, the before and after. You would have gone viral. I mean, it was unbelievable.

What personal stories do the hosts share about golf and time management?

Quint (host) 4:01
She did a couple things, a couple tweaks. I had a couple weird little apparatus things that I was hitting with or through or whatever, and I was hitting the ball. I was like, wow, I'm really hitting the ball here. Did that carry through to today's practice? Yeah, absolutely. But I find I get fatigued Very quickly, which is ridiculous. You're playing golf.
