Allie Howard 0:02
Hey, this is Allie, and thanks for listening to the show. Give us a five-star review where you listen and share this episode with someone who might need to hear it. Now, enjoy the show.
Logan (host) 0:13
Welcome back to another episode of DIY Money.
Allie Howard 0:16
DIY Money.
Logan (host) 0:17
A. Howard, you are about to get your wisdom teeth taken out. It's the gift that keeps on giving the whole year.
Allie Howard 0:24
Oh, it's so bad. I don't want to talk about it. That is going to be absolutely horrible.
Logan (host) 0:28
But I have a big question for you because I believe that tonight is the last night before you go under your procedure. And then you basically are like eating mashed potatoes and milkshakes for a week. So what is going to be the final meal? What is your go-to?
Allie Howard 0:42
The last supper. I think tonight is going to have to be Mexican, obviously. We all saw that coming. Mostly, I'm just eating as many tortilla chips as possible. There is a place. I don't know if it's a chain or just locally. Is Hacienda a chain? There's a Mexican restaurant around here that has tremendous Mexican food. And I will be eating my body weight in some sort of nachos situation tonight. I feel like I get a pass for the next week to just eat ice cream and do whatever I want. And so I'm going to kick that off by eating the crappiest dinner ever. And it's probably just going to be like nachos. There you go. It's going to be fire. But tonight we're also decorating for Christmas.
Logan (host) 1:25
Wow. That is some bold moves that you're all doing in the same time.
Allie Howard 1:28
I'm hype about that. And for context, yes, some people out there are probably going to get mad about this. Today is November the 12th. I don't know when this episode comes out, but it's time for Christmas.
Logan (host) 1:38
No, it's not. Okay. I have an issue with this. I really do. And here's the deal.

Why are the hosts debating early Christmas decorating and personal anecdotes?

Logan (host) 1:44
My wife is the exact same way.
Allie Howard 1:46
Yes, I love Hannah. Exactly the same way. I knew we were besties.
Logan (host) 1:49
So if you hadn't heard the episode with Hannah and I a couple weeks ago, go back and listen to that, and you'll get a vibe for how our situation works, and this is basically how it works. I am adamantly against setting up Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving because, as you know, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.
Allie Howard 2:06
It's the best holiday. Yeah, we know.
Logan (host) 2:07
It's not even close. Right. Yes. So I'm adamantly against it. My wife loves Christmas, all about Christmas, and wants to do it the day after Halloween. So, obviously, all our Christmas stuff is up.
Allie Howard 2:21
No, yeah, you're not going to win that.
Logan (host) 2:22
Painful. We set up the tree.
Allie Howard 2:24
Okay. We did all the things. If you put it up after Thanksgiving, you only get like three or four weeks.
Okay.
Allie Howard 2:29
Why does it need to be up? It needs to be up. If it's cold, it's the only thing that gets me there.
Logan (host) 2:36
I am fully convinced of this. We set up the Christmas tree, and then it got below zero, and I was scraping my car. That is a cause and effect. That is causation, not cause.
Allie Howard 2:47
Riddle me this. I've already scraped my car, so let's put the tree up. What's it going to hurt?
Logan (host) 2:53
Terrible.
Allie Howard 2:53
It's awesome.
Logan (host) 2:54
It's absolutely terrible.
Allie Howard 2:55
What's wrong with you people? It's going to be so awesome.
Logan (host) 2:57
Let's get to our question.
Allie Howard 2:59
Well, let's talk about our sponsors now that you're angry. I'll talk about them so you're not angrily mentioning Jewel Financial, our main sponsor, our day jobs, if you will. Check us out on the web. If you have a complicated situation and you just need another opinion, feel free to check us out. Send us a message. We'd love to talk to you about that. The other big announcement is make sure you send in questions. I know towards the end of the year things get crazy, and we're on holiday shopping, and you're setting up your Christmas tree as you should as early as possible. But take a second, send us a question. It really helps us out with content to help getting you guys good content towards the end of the year.
Allie Howard 3:35
And we do need to hit pause real quick for our other sponsors. Amazing. Okay, today we have a question from Mike. Mike, what do you got?
D-I-Y!
Mike 3:45
Hey, DIY Money. This is Mike from New Jersey. I have a follow up question to your previous episode titled Taking Advantage of Capital Gains Brackets.
