How do Quint and Logan introduce the episode and set the scene?
Hey, this is Allie, and thanks for listening to the show. Give us a five-star review where you listen and share this episode with someone who might need to hear it. Now, enjoy the show. Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. You're listening to another edition of DIY Money.
DIY Money. Logan. In his house. His house. What's going on with your world? Well, the Bills won their first playoff game. Booyah! And the Packers lost there in absolute... Terrible fashion.
I'm not ready to talk about it. I thought you guys were going to go far.
I am not ready to talk about it.
I am a Bills fan. And this is the first time, I don't know why I'm so invested this year. I think I'm so invested because the last several years, I didn't have the hopes that I had this year. And even coming into this season, the first game we beat Baltimore, I was like, oh, this is going to be amazing. And then we stunk for a while. But I just feel like this team...
With the Chiefs out of it.
I mean, now's your chance.
We have a shot.
I mean, the Bengals are out. The Chiefs are out. Those are kind of our nemesis teams. But Denver at Denver, if you're listening to this podcast, it will come out already. We will know the outcome of this game by the time this podcast. Hopefully, Bills win in Denver. You're not as depressed as me.
Yeah. I see a Bills loss in the near future.
So that's what's going on. I watched the game this weekend with a chair in my living room in front of the television. I could not lay on the couch, sit on the couch. My wife's like, what are you doing? I'm like, I don't know, but this feels right. So I put the chair there.
It's like when you get the perfect spot and you're like, I can't move now. We're winning from this spot.
I was freaking my dog out. I've never sat in this chair. I've never moved the kitchen table chair to the living room to watch the game. Yep. So what else is going on in my life? I got a half marathon coming up this weekend. Again, this podcast will air after that. So hopefully I did awesome and I'm not injured. That's number one. That's what's going on. How about you?
That's exciting. You're going to be on a run and are you trying to hit a certain target?
have an a and a b goal i really i hate to talk about it publicly because if i fail miserably like when i didn't get into boston by 24 seconds i mean i qualified i did what i wanted to do but i didn't get in um yeah i mean my a goal i'll just say it is to break an hour 30 uh that would be aggressive my b goal is a pr which is my pr last time is 136 so anywhere in the one low 130s would be great and then my c goal is just don't die Don't get hurt.
Don't injure myself, et cetera.
I've been ill. I've battled this sickness for a long time. So, yeah, you're deflecting a lot today, though.
What's going on in your world?
I want you to go until we get to the question. All right. We got something going on with Logan, but maybe we'll pry into that next episode or another time. First of all, keep the questions coming. We need questions. Send them to podcast at diymoney.org. That's podcast at diymoney.org. If we use it on the show, we'll give you a $25 Amazon gift card. We also are blowing up the socials. If you're not following us on DIY Money Podcast on Instagram and TikTok and Facebook and all the things. I'm not sure you realize how psychologically healthy that actually is. We're just crushing it. Yes, we are. All right, we got a DIY money today from Dylan. Dylan, what do you got? DIY!
Hi, my name is Dylan, and I live in New Jersey.
What personal updates and anecdotes do the hosts share before the main topic?
I'm 13 and homeschool. I am interested in investing and want to know the pros and cons of picking a few stocks or doing mutual funds. Thank you.
Okay, Dylan, first of all, thanks for that great question. I love, love that you have voiced in. I don't know, written in, questioned in. What do you say? Called in?
I think voiced in sounds good. Voiced in. It's not correct at all, but I like voiced in.
I love it.
I like voiced in.
Here's what I'm going to change a little bit. Pros and cons, mutual funds, or stocks. At your age, 13 years, I want to remove the or and I want to insert the and.
