DIY Money.
Allie Howard 0:20
Logan, I have to tell you something about my garden.
Logan 0:22
Oh, I'm scared. I just love to update the people. Yeah, this is the 100-square-foot garden that you put together after no gardening ever.
Allie Howard 0:30
Area garden experience. I'm taking care of indoor plants.
Logan 0:33
Can't wait to hear about this. I'm sure it's going swimmingly.
Allie Howard 0:36
Well, I know.
Logan 0:37
Did you do that on purpose? I did. Pun intended.
Allie Howard 0:39
It is going swimmingly in that for those who don't live in Kentucky, and this is coming out so much later anyway, so even those who lived in Kentucky and forgot, I planted my garden. It has rained every single day.
Logan 0:55
Yep. And we don't get like spring rain in Kentucky is not like this, not like the Northwest. Like it's not like we get sprinkles and it's like misty and whatever. It's literally torrential downpour for 15 minutes and then the sun comes out and then torrential downpour for another 20 minutes and then the sun comes out. It is terrible.
Allie Howard 1:13
I watered it the first two days and then the sky has watered it the last nine, I think.
Logan 1:19
So we have a little river going in your plant box. Yeah. So do you have any growth?
Allie Howard 1:24
I did have, so I did plant a couple things that had already sprouted. So those are still alive, last I checked.
Logan 1:31
Yeah.
Allie Howard 1:31
So we'll see.
Logan 1:32
Well, you built a big enough planter box that you could probably make like an infinity pool out of it.
Allie Howard 1:36
It's just going to be a swimming pool pretty soon, I think.
Logan 1:38
Yeah, exactly, for sure.
Allie Howard 1:39
It just doubles up. No, now some of my flowers have seeded, which is amazing.
Logan 1:43
Impressive.
Allie Howard 1:44
Have you ever seeded something? Yeah. Really? When?
Logan 1:47
We do our landscaping stuff, but we don't do 100 square feet. We do like three.
Okay.
Logan 1:52
Yeah. I don't want to talk about this anymore. Yep, fair enough. Okay, on to our housekeeping odds and ends.
Allie Howard 1:58
Every time we do an episode, you just make me mad, and then I'm like, whatever, I don't want to talk to you. What's our question?
Logan 2:03
Fair enough.
Allie Howard 2:03
Who has something that they want to ask me?
Logan 2:05
I don't want to talk to Logan. Let's pause for our sponsors. All right, check us out on DIY Money Podcast on the social media pages. Go to DIYMoney.org. If you want to sign up for the daily newsletter, feel free to sign up on there. Check us out. We're sending out the daily content about what's going on in the markets and in the news, and we try to make it as easy as possible for folks to understand. Okay, send us those questions. Podcast at DIYMoney.org. That's podcast at DIYMoney.org. If you send us a question, we use it on the show. You get a $25 Amazon gift card. Allie reminded me last episode, keep it to about one minute. If you can keep it short, it's going to go to the top of the queue. If you're a junior out there, we need some junior questions.
Logan 2:45
So send us those questions. We'll get a release form from your parents and we will use it on the show. You get a $25 Amazon gift card. All right, let's get to our question today.
Allie Howard 2:54
Yep. Angeline from Texas wrote in with a good one. Angeline, what do you got? D-I-Y.
Unknown 3:00
Hey DIY Money Gang, this is Angela Lynn from Dallas, Texas. I had a question about EE Savings Bonds. So I have quite a few that are maturing. Two of them have already matured and one is coming up here in a few months. What would be the best plan of action for this money? One of the things I was thinking about was rolling it into my three-year-old's 429 plan or using it for her child care expenses as she's after the cutoff date for all of us here in Texas. So we'll actually have an extra year of private care. Thank you for your help in figuring out what to do.
Logan 3:52
And the only thing else I got to say is Okay, this is a great question, and I'm not going to answer it. I'm going to let you answer it. But I want to speak to something because we see this a lot. We see E.E. Bond. So let me break down what an E.E. Bond is real quick for those that don't know.
