DIY Money.
Allie Howard 0:19
Logan in the house. I'm really fulfilling the Quint chair today. Yeah, you're really getting after it. All the slang and the language.
Logan (host) 0:25
Very impressive.
Allie Howard 0:27
You were gone last week on a big old trip, and I've tried to talk to you about it three times, but now that I have you cornered and we can't just get caught up on work like lame people, tell me about your trip. What were the highlights? Okay.
Logan (host) 0:39
It's not like that big of a deal trip.
Allie Howard 0:42
But you went on vacation. That's a big deal. That's true. Logan Gillen does not go on vacation very often.
Logan (host) 0:48
I do not go on a lot of vacations, but it was good.
Allie Howard 0:50
And you actually kind of vacationed.
Logan (host) 0:52
Fire. I'm on fire. I had a couple of days, which was really nice. And we had a three-day weekend in the markets as we were cutting this. This is right after the Easter weekend where you get Good Friday off, which was amazing. It was very nice not to have the markets open because even when I'm on vacation, like I still,

How did the hosts describe Logan's recent vacation and why does it matter?

Logan (host) 1:09
Quint does this, has always done this for years too. Like I'm still thinking about what's going on in the world and what's going on in the markets all the time.
Allie Howard 1:15
I think that's normal.
Logan (host) 1:17
But it's so nice when the market's closed and you're on the trip. So it was really nice. I got to go to the beach, which was great. Got to, you know, sit in the beach and not do anything, which was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed that. Speedo, rock it. And I got to chef it up and basically grill out for the week. And it was wonderful. It was really, really nice.
Allie Howard 1:36
So the first half was kind of a guy's trip. And you described that beach as like tossing the Frisbee, hanging out, running around, walking on the beach. But then I noticed the second half with your wife was a lot more laying on the beach.
Logan (host) 1:51
Which one do you typically... Laying by the pool, actually.
Allie Howard 1:54
Oh, the pool.
Logan (host) 1:55
We were Central Florida with my wife. As people may know, like... guy's trip at this point is not really like, my wife is like, I'll kill you. Like, why are you taking a guy's trip? Not really. But she was like, well, what are we going to do? Like you're going on a guy's trip. What are we going to do? Well, it all worked out perfectly that halfway through the week she came down and the rest of the week was her and I, and we got a visit with our grandparents and we literally just laid by the pool and did absolutely nothing. And it was for both of us. I've been working really long hours and intense hours. It was
Allie Howard 2:26
glorious it was so very nice so it was really good when's your next trip you got a trip coming up too right um i do i'm trying to think my next one well i'll be doing a memorial day camping trip i think that's probably the next thing on the books and toying with going to connecticut although we'll see now connecticut yeah for a wedding of all things yeah in connecticut of all places but we'll see i will keep you posted Okay, let's get into it today because we've got some good questions. And let's pause real quick for our sponsors. Okay, we are back. So again, keep your questions coming. Today, we've got a really good one from Nick. Nick, what do you got?
Nick (caller) 3:30
Hey, DIY Money. This is Nick from St. Louis, Missouri. My question today is about Fidelity Zero Funds. These are funds that have a zero dollar expense ratio. I've learned recently that They only pay out dividends one time per year versus a lot of traditional funds pay out dividends quarterly. I'm interested to know your thoughts on how to evaluate if a zero fund is a better choice than an equivalent fund with a low expense ratio that pays out dividends quarterly.
