How do Quint and Logan introduce the episode and call for listener questions?

Quint (host) 0:02
Hey, this is Allie, and thanks for listening to the show. Give us a five-star review where you listen and share this episode with someone who might need to hear it. Now, enjoy the show. Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. You're listening to another edition of DIY Money. DIY Money. Logan, what's shaking? How's the puppy?
Logan (host) 0:19
The puppy is doing okay. Okay. He controls everything in your life. I told Allie on a previous episode, it's like having a child. Oh, yeah. Like... 100%. You get home and it just consumes everything. Yes.
Quint (host) 0:33
Yes. But unfortunately, unlike a child, you can't really take him to dinner.

What real-life homeowner and puppy anecdotes do the hosts share before the main topic?

Logan (host) 0:39
No.
Quint (host) 0:40
I don't think I'll ever go to a restaurant again. Ha! That's so funny. How's home ownership?
Logan (host) 0:45
Home ownership is home ownership. I do love having a house. It is very nice, and I have a good backyard and everything. But the other night, my neighbors probably think I'm crazy. If you guys ever need fertilizer, I've got a lot of it. I'm outside with my drill in that big, long cord to clean out my dryer vent. I'm drilling at 9 o'clock at night. They're like, this guy.
Quint (host) 1:05
You know, just the other day, I was out for a run early in the morning, and I ran around my neighborhood, which is abnormal. I usually go into Lexington and run with a crew, but I was running around my neighborhood for whatever reason. And I'm not kidding you. At 6.30 in the morning, and I had already been running for an hour, there was a guy mowing his lawn. with a push mower mowing the lawn. Now, I get it. It's been hot around here, so he's like, I'm going to get in here before the heat. But if you are a neighbor to this guy and he's out mowing his lawn, because most people clearly are still sleeping.
Aura (advertisement narrator) 1:38
Absolutely.
Quint (host) 1:39
They're not up at 630. Or maybe some are, but most are not. And I was like, that is crazy. And I ran by him and he waved at me just like it's 2 o'clock in the afternoon. I'm like, dude, what are you doing? No problem. Oh, my goodness. All right, some housekeeping odds and ends. Listen, we need the questions. Send them to podcast at diymoney.org. That's podcast at diymoney.org. We'll send you a $25 Amazon gift card. Keep those audio questions coming. I know you guys on a previous podcast talked about letting people write in and blah, blah, blah. I'm not doing that. I refuse to do that. So send us your audio questions. That's how the show is built. And if you're a junior, send us those. You'll go to the top of the list.
Quint (host) 2:20
Now that's what I'm talking about. Sponsors of the show, Jewel Financial, J-O-U-L-E financial.com. We're coming into that time period, end of the year. If you're thinking, man, I got a complex situation. I'm a small business owner. I don't know if I'm doing the right things and paying too much in taxes and blah, blah, blah. You need a second opinion, hit us up. Go to the website, J-O-U-L-E financial.com. Learn more about our services. Maybe we can have a discussion. We can go from there. Let's take a quick break for our other sponsors of this glorious show. What do we got in the hopper today? We got Corey today. Corey, what do you got?
DIY!
Corey (caller) 2:55
Hey, DIY team. This is Corey from Dallas. I've been a longtime listener of the show, and I have put in a question before. I hope you guys are doing great. So, yeah, my question is regarding starting a side hustle business with my brother-in-law. And we have talked quite a bit about the pitfalls or the worries, the downside of going into business with family. But we do feel that we have very... different skill sets that would complement each other well in a business like this and so yeah it's a it's a mobile business idea that we're really excited about there would be a pretty significant upfront cost of getting it started and then from there maintenance costs and stuff are much lower so really my question is regarding how to go about financing the start of a business like this
Corey (caller) 3:43
You know, I understand there's small business loans and lines of credit, things like that, credit unions, bigger banks, small banks. So, yeah, I just wanted to kind of get some of your thoughts on, you know, the best way to approach that.
