So tell us about the move. Well, we are moving. We're moving to a new office. For the whole Jewel fam is moving to a new office. It'd be weird if only half of us were moving. Logan 2:16
Keep it about a minute long.
Quint 2:17
Yep. Audio question. If you've got a junior in the house, get that junior on there, and they always bump to the top because we love junior questions. All right, we've got an interesting question today from Sonia. What do you got? DIY.
Sonya (caller) 2:31
Hi, DIY Money. I'm Sonya from Ohio. And I've been listening to your podcast for a few years now. I recently switched to a high deductible health insurance plan for my family and was excited to open my first HSA. I'm contributing the family maximum, which is 8,300 for 2024. I recently heard about the so-called super HSA, which allows young adults to contribute to their own HSA while under their parents' insurance. if they're not claimed as dependents on their tax return. Can you discuss the details of this? If my kids who are ages 19 and 23 do this, would they have the individual or the family limit for their accounts? And am I still able to contribute up to the family limit in my own account? This seems like a great opportunity for them to start saving some HSA dollars early in their adult life,
Sonya (caller) 3:28
and a great way for me to help set them up for future financial security. Thanks for all your great information. Love your podcast.
Quint 3:38
Okay, before we get to the question, have you ever watched the show Lost? I have not. You're into it. Yeah, and I hate that I'm into it. I hate sitting down and watching it because it's like I'm now on season three, episode 45 or something like that. There's six seasons. And every time I say to myself, I'm not going to watch this anymore. And then, of course, at the very end, it's like they uncover something else. And you're like, oh, I got to find out what that is all about. And I'm so sucked in. But Sonia, you and me have no idea what I'm talking about. There is a character on there. Her name is Juliet. I don't know if she's a good character or a bad character yet because she just kind of like was left by the, quote, others.
