How do Quint and Logan introduce the episode and sponsor details?

Allie (host) 0:00
Hey, this is Daniel. Thanks for listening to DIY Money. If you haven't already, be sure to give us a five-star review on iTunes so your friends know that they can learn from the show.
Quint (host) 0:10
Now, enjoy the show.
Logan (host) 0:21
I think you know this, Quint, but I love to host people. So my latest thing was we had a guy's weekend, and we did all the hosting. I never asked you about that. I'm a terrible friend. Thank you for being a bad friend. That's okay. It was a blast. We had a great time. We threw down, had the Blackstone Grill out there. It was...
Quint (host) 0:38
We had a really good time. And you did the menu. You sent me a photo. I mean, you went above and beyond because on breakfast day, you had eggs. Oh, yeah. Eggs, bacon, protein pancakes. And they weren't like mixed eggs in a carton where you put them on there and you scrambled them.

What personal updates and small-money anecdotes do the hosts share about hosting and caffeine?

Logan (host) 0:53
No, it was game on. These were real eggs. We were cracking like 24 eggs a morning. We were doing it. What? It was amazing. Yeah, no, I love to entertain and throw down. What was the budget per person for food? It ended up only being about $40 per person for the whole weekend.
Quint (host) 1:06
And they got eggs. Yes.
Logan (host) 1:07
Dude, Sam's Club, fire.
Quint (host) 1:09
Wow, that's fantastic. Well, good for you. That's wonderful. What's new in your world? So I'm still off the coffee. I've gotten a lot of messages about that when I talked about that with Allie a couple weeks ago. It's game changer. I'm mentally preparing myself, though. I'm going to spend three weeks abroad in June, and I will have coffee every day. Like, I'm not... Well, first of all, I think an Italian would smack me if I went in and asked for, like, a decaf Americano.
Logan (host) 1:36
They'd be like... Idiota.
Quint (host) 1:37
That would not work. So I'm... But that's June. Okay. So I'm good through June. And plus, I'll be there with students. And so... You know, what I love about not having caffeine now is that by the end of the day, I still have the energy to go outside and play with my kids and, you know, the weather's getting nicer and so forth. I'm not going to worry about that. What's the hardest part of it right now? The hardest part of no caffeine was when we traveled. I mean, when you travel, I don't sleep well when we travel. We had to be on all day, right? We had back-to-back meetings for multiple days, and a good cup of coffee gets you through. But remember that one time I wanted a tea? You were close. I was like, I'm going to get a green tea.
Quint (host) 2:23
But I was like, it has caffeine. Logan was like, no, you can't do that. What are you doing? And I was like, ah, shoot. So I didn't get it. Decaf Americano. Decaf Americano. Yeah, $5 brown water. All right. So a couple of housekeeping odds and ends. This podcast is sponsored by Jewel Financial. Visit us on the web, joulefinancial.com. We are fiduciary advisors. That's our day job. Quint (host) 3:39
Let's get to the topic of the day. Topic of the day. So last episode, Allie and I talked about lifestyle creep. And it's an important subject matter. And this whole thing has been triggered by, once again, the report we saw of mortgage delinquencies. I mean... We are seeing this evolve before our eyes where the economy is slowing and it's going to be impacting Americans.
