Take us home. So it's like a good meet-up point between my friends who live in North Carolina and my friends who are here. You have a question.

No, this is camping, and this is bring every layer that you can because it's going to be cold. Last year we did this trip. Typically we do it the weekend right before Thanksgiving. That's just been our tradition. But this year there was a conflict, so we moved it up, which has been a blessing because it is supposed to snow next week, but I think we're supposed to get rain barely on Sunday.
Now, Okay, so paint the picture for me. You have a backpack. Sure. Right? What do you mean by that? Well, meaning like you drive somewhere, you're parking, and you're taking everything with you.
Oh, well, we have a site. So this is the abnormal type of camping that I will allow myself to pay the $25 to get a campsite.

And you pull your car up right to the site.
Okay, so the car is there.
And we buy firewood. Oh, okay.
Luxury. Luxury as in you're still sleeping on the ground in a tent outside.

But at a site that's designated.

We don't have to carry our stuff.
And you can go get a shower in the morning.

And you buy firewood. That's huge for me.
Okay, I thought of you recently because a friend of mine was in town, and we went to the gorge. Hey-o, the red. Okay, and I have no desire to go cold camping. I am not hiking and living on cans of tuna and all this nonsense, okay? I ended up at Miguel's with pizza and a great beer. It was amazing. There you go. But every time I do this, which is like maybe once a year, and I'll go out there and either go for a run, which is what we did, or hike or whatever, and I get out there and I get to this point. This time we went to this double arch thing and we climbed up on top. And which is a funny story, not for today, because getting down was interesting. But nonetheless, and you look out and it's peaceful and quiet.
And I'm like and I thought of you and I was like, oh, this is why Ali loves this. Yeah. However, I did know that in 45 minutes I'd be back in the car and again getting great food and sleeping in a very comfortable bed. But I digress. Listen. It was so wonderful. And I literally said to myself as I was up there, I was like, I have to do more of this. Now, I won't. I won't do this again for another eight months or whatever. But I do enjoy that. you know, experience it. So I get it. I get it. Now I don't get sleeping outside in the cold, being wet and hungry and rainy and yucky and blah, blah, blah. Uh, that doesn't sound fun to me at all.
Yeah. Well, the last thing I'll say, cause I know we've got to get to our question is we have a saying in my friend group. I think I've said it on the podcast before, but it's miserable equals memorable. And it's true because if we are miserable, we will talk about this trip forever and it'll be great.
