Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. You're listening to another edition of DIY Money. DIY Money. We're shaking, Logan.
What is shaking? We have a, let's see, February that we're rolling into. You do anything fun for Valentine's Day? No, I asked my wife the other day.
I was like, it's on a Friday.
What do you want to do?
And she was like, I don't know. Crickets.
I typically cook for Valentine's Day. And I don't know what I'm going to do this year because my wife really likes fish and shrimp and stuff like that. Really? And I'm a pretty good cook. But I can't cook seafood to save my life.
Broil that bad broil. Yeah.
Well, how long do you do it?
I mean, depends on the fish and the thickness. What's your favorite? Well, I like, I mean, there's a, what is it, halibut I like. Okay. And you put a little olive oil on it, sprinkle on some paprika. put it in with a little lemon and butter, put it in a broiler for like five minutes. It comes out. It's like flaky goodness. Amazing.
Yummy, yummy.
I'm going to have to look into that. Or have you done the fish bag at Kroger? The fish bag? Oh, see, that's the best kept secret at Kroger. You go to the seafood department, you pick out a piece of fish, and you say, can I get a fish pack? It's called a fish pack, not a fish bag. And so they'll take that piece of fish, and for no additional charge – They'll go get a little oven pack, and they'll put it in. They'll put the seasoning you want on it. They'll put a piece of butter. They'll put a lemon and some thyme or something like that. And you get it home, and you put it in your oven for however many minutes, and you take it out, and it's glorious. Yeah, called a fish pack. A fish pack?
That's like a financial life hack.
It was one of those things where I was in line, because I was getting a piece of salmon or something, and somebody's like, yeah, can I get the California garlic sprinkled on there? And I'm like, oh, so my ear's perked up. I'm like, I'm sorry, what's happening right now? And the guy goes, and he puts it, and he seals it. So, I mean, you bring it home, and you literally put it in the oven. It's such a great hack. That's a done deal. I'm doing that. Yeah, so anybody that's got a Kroger, go and look for a fish pack. Yeah, I mean, you could bring home a fish pack for your wife, She wouldn't even need to know that you put it in the oven, get it out, make this thing. And she would be like, this is glorious. And I highly recommend the California garlic as the seasoning.
So if you're going to do salmon or something like that. But maybe she's not a garlic person, whatever. There's a variety of seasonings. The lemon, for sure. Maybe a little thyme or something like that to put in there. Oh, it's fire.
Done deal.
All right, let's keep moving on. We uncovered that little ounce of goodness. It's good. All right. Some housekeeping odds and ends. Again, that's JewelFinancial.com. All right. Let's jump right into our questions. We got one from Lauren today. Lauren, what do you got? Good morning. This is Lauren. I have a couple questions about the online platforms that you can use for investing. Specifically, I'd like you to compare them and touch on, you know, do they all allow for custodial accounts? Do they all do robo-investing? Do they all have target date funds that you can invest in?
Do they have additional accounts like savings accounts or money markets? accounts with competitive interest rates. Is it easy to move money from an outside bank into the investment accounts and back again? Are there any hidden fees or costs or expenses associated with the platforms? Do you have to have a certain amount of money in order to use the tools on the platform?
